Rotary Spaghetti Dinner: The Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary Club will host its annual 'Polar-riffic' Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at M State's Detroit Lakes campus, 900 Highway 34 East. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 5-12, and free for all children age 4 and under, and may be purchased in advance from any Noon Rotarian, or at the door. Proceeds to benefit the Becker County Food Pantry.

Defensive Driving Class: A 4-hour Senior Driver Safety Class will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Perham Public Library. Please call Denise Lillis at 218-346-3336 to register.

ULTRA Snowmobile Club: The February meeting of the Detroit Lakes ULTRA Snowmobile Club will be held at the Sandbar in Detroit Lakes, with the board meeting starting at 6 p.m. and the general membership meeting to follow at 7 p.m. Agenda items will include trails, the Vintage Rally, March elections and Snowball. Chili will be served.

Ice Tee Golf: Grab your friends and co-workers and join other teams from local businesses and community organizations for nine holes of frozen fun on Big Detroit Lake in front of the Holiday Inn. Tuxes & Tails: The annual benefit for the Humane Society of the Lakes gets underway at 6 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction, catered dinner at 7 p.m. and the 'Tuxes & Tails' runway show and live auction at 8 p.m. All festivities take place inside the Holiday Inn Lakeside, 1155 Highway 10 East, Detroit Lakes. Square Dancing: The Country Twirlers will host a square dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the IOOF Hall, 118 W. Holmes St., Detroit Lakes. Caller is Larry Johansen.

Polar Fest Kids' Fishing Derby: The Minnesota Darkhouse & Angling Association will host its annual Polar Fest Kids' Fishing Derby from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Little Detroit Lake, at the Rossman Avenue Public Access.This derby is free for all kids age 12 and under; prizes will be awarded (pan fish only). Amateur Radio Club: The February meeting of the Detroit Lakes Amateur Radio Clubwill be held at 9 a.m. inside the Ice House Restaurant at the Holiday Inn, Detroit Lakes. The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in ham radio or short-wave listening. A presentation on "Maidenhead Grid System" will follow the meeting. Color Guard Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Club. Suggested donation is $7 for a meal including scrambled eggs; pancakes or French toast; and sausage or bacon, plus beverage.

French Toast Breakfast: St. Ann's Catholic Church of Waubun is hosting a French Toast Breakfast, Bake Sale and Quilt Raffle at the Waubun Community Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Serving French toast, sausage, scrambled eggs and a beverage of choice; quilt to be raffled was created by the St. Ann's Arise Group.

Community Health & Wellness Summit: Detroit Lakes' third annual Community Health & Wellness Summit, "Planning from the Future," is set to take place from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 912 Lake Ave., Detroit Lakes. This free, all-day event will feature a presentation by Bemidji State University President Emeritus, Jim Bensen, a renowned expert on visionary and innovative thinking. Native American Education Public Hearing: The Detroit Lakes Native American Education Department will hold a Public Hearing from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Callaway City Hall. The purpose of the hearing is to provide opportunity to the public to voice their suggestions for the 2018-19 school year. The Public Hearing is specific to the Native American Education Programs for the Detroit Lakes Public Schools. Refreshments will be provided.

Lenten Fish Fry Fundraiser: The Knights of Columbus Council 12581 of Frazee will host a Lenten fish fry fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee. The meal will include fried fish, scalloped potatoes or French fries, green beans, cole slaw, bread and ice cream. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids age 7-12, and free for kids age 6 and under.

Meatball Dinner & Silent Auction: Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 1401 Madison Ave. in Detroit Lakes, will host a meatball dinner and silent auction fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are invited.

Polar Fest 2018: Detroit Lakes' biggest winter celebration continues through Monday, Feb. 19, with festivities including 'Polar-palooza' tubing at Detroit Mountain, Ice Tee Golf, a youth fishing derby, helicopter rides, Freeze Your Buns Run, Frozen Fireworks and of course, the Polar Fest Plunge into Little Detroit Lake. Valentine Bake Sale: Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee will host a St. Valentine's Day Bake Sale from 5 to 7 p.m. is hosting a St. Valentine's Day Bake Sale on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 11 from 8 to 10 a.m. Available will be homemade breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, and many sweet treats for your valentines. Proceeds to benefit local youth. Everyone welcome.

Lenten Fish Fry: The local Knights of Columbus will be hosting three Friday Lenten Fish Fry events on Feb. 16, March 2 and March 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for all kids under age 12. All proceeds will be used to benefit the community.

'Reforming Worship': On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17-18, First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes will be hosting a very special guest speaker, Dr Dirk Lange. The current professor of worship at Luther Seminary, Dr. Lange was also a brother in the Taize´ monastery in southern France for 20 years, and he was asked by the Lutheran World Federation to put together the Worship service for the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the reformation in Lund, Sweden with the Vatican, alongside with Pope Francis. He will be discussing Martin Luther in worship as well as his experience in Lund. Sessions are 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday (two sessions), and 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. presentations on Sunday as part of the worship service, as well as a 9:35 a.m. forum for adults. All sessions are free, and the public is welcome.

ABE Orientation: Detroit Lakes Adult Basic Education is offering a two0day orientation for those wanting to enroll in GED or Adult Diploma classes. Orientation dates are Feb. 20-21. Call 218-844-5760 to register or stop by the ABE office at M State-Detroit Lakes.

Artist Exhibit: Artist Carmen I. Bruhn is displaying her acrylic paintings at the Detroit Lakes Public Library (1000 Washington Ave.) through the month of February.

Library Storytime: Children ages 3 through kindergarten are invited to the Detroit Lakes Library on Thursday and Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for exciting stories and activities that are more fun than a barrel of monkeys. TOPS meetings: Take Off Pounds Sensibly members help each other stay on track to their weight loss goal. No diets, no food to buy and no workouts to follow. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Minnesota TOPS Chapter 30 meets Mondays in Trinity Lutheran Church choir room in Detroit Lakes. Weigh in is at 4:15 p.m., followed by meeting at 4:30. TOPS Chapter 940 meets on Thursdays at 9 a.m., also at Trinity Lutheran. TOPS 1251 of Lake Park meets every Tuesday at the Lake Park Lutheran Church, with weigh-in starting at 12 noon, followed by the meeting at 12:30. L.A. Moms group: Lakes Area (L.A.) Moms is designed to nurture every mother. At our L.A. Moms group, you will have a chance to socialize with other moms, hear some great teaching, have discussion time and participate in creative activities. L.A. Community Alliance Church programs: Community Alliance Church, Detroit Lakes, hosts Quilting for Missions Mondays at 9:30 a.m.; The first Tuesday of every month is High Mileage (suggested ages 55 and up), which meets for "pot-blessing" meal at noon, followed by special music and a Bible nugget.

Bone Builders: An exercise class for seniors called "Bone Builders" is being held at 405 W. Maple Ave. in Detroit Lakes, Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m., the Lake Park City Center every Tuesday and Friday at 10:15 a.m., and also at the Vergas Event Center, Thursdays at 9:30.a.m. The group focuses on low-impact and balance exercises.

Alzheimer's Support Group: Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. in the Yoga Studio at Ecumen Detroit Lakes.

Dunvilla Lions Club: The Dunvilla Lions Club will meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Dunn Township Hall.

Free hot meal: Stop into the Refuge every Thursday and Friday evening for a hot meal served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. The Refuge is located at 921 8th Street SE in Detroit Lakes.

Cancer support group: Essentia Health St. Mary's Cancer Support Group meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. Please meet at the fireplace in the Clinic Lobby. The Caring Cup: Every second and last Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., community members who are dealing with the loss of a loved one meet at the David-Donehower Funeral Home for friendship, support and encouragement. The free program is open to the public, no registration necessary.

Women's Domestic Violence Education Support Group: Lakes Crisis & Resource Center hosts a Women's Domestic Violence Education Support Group every Wednesday from 5:30—6:30 p.m. in the crisis center. Call to pre-register at 218-847-8572 or 218-847-7446. Childcare is available upon request.

Rummikub, more games: Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., come to Holy Rosary fireplace room for coffee, desserts and a game of cards, board games or Rummikub. Everyone is welcome.

BC Senior Meals: Meals for persons 60 and older are served several times each week at nutrition sites in Detroit Lakes, Lake Park, Osage and Wolf Lake or can be delivered directly to homes in these communities, Frazee and Callaway, via the Meals on Wheels program. One-day advance notice of attendance is required at many sites. Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Call Annie at 218-847-5628 ext. 5419 to make an appointment. This one screening will provide your child the requirements for Early Childhood Screening. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.

Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month. The second Monday of each month there will be a Site Council meeting at 11 a.m. For more information, call 847-5823.

Bingo for DL Hockey: The DL Youth Hockey organization holds Bingo every Sunday at Zorbaz in support of youth hockey in Detroit Lakes. All are welcome; Bingo starts at 6 p.m.

Topics include Labor & Delivery, Cesarean Birth, Role of the Labor Companion, Newborn Care, Unexpected Outcomes, Breast & Bottle Feeding, Postpartum Period, Breathing Patterns & Relaxation Techniques.
